HARRIET HILL artist
DisUnion Jacks 2020
I began making these as a response to the disuniting of the UK through Brexit. Thinking about our notion of Britain as a "green and pleasant land" as depicted by William Blake in Jerusalem. Then as he says, how can we be that glorified place unless we address the inequalities and disunity that are rife across the country? Can I weave us back together or reweave us together in a different way?
